Route and landmarks
You can download a pdf version of the following, and carry it with you, if you are planning to drive down to our new habitat.
Landmarks:
The new habitat (Eshwaripuri Colony, Sainikpuri) is about 15 km from the earlier home (Sancharpuri Colony, Bowenpally).
Sainikpuri, is near the north-east periphery of Hyderabad. This house is about 5km from Neredmut crossroad, on the Neredmut - ECIL main road. It is 500m south-west of Kapra Lake, 5 km from ECIL, 3 km from AS Rao Nagar and Radhika theatre (a landmark). And 2 km from Ushodaya Supermarket, Sainikpuri, a major landmark, on Sainikpuri-ECIL Road.
Follow this route: If you are coming via Outer Ring Road (aka Nehru Outer Ring Rd), take exit #8 (Keesara) or exit #9 (Ghatkesar), as shown in this ORR map. Drive down to Sainikpuri (USHODAYA Super Market) and follow the route given below. Notice that since these two exits (there are 19 exits in ORR) are almost diametrically opposite to the Hyderabad Airport exit (Shamshabad), they avoid the city traffic and congestion points (if you are coming from the airport or going to the airport).
Attention: ORR is a toll-gates-controlled corridor !
Reach Ushodaya Super Market, Sainikpuri, continue on 1st Avenue (which is plunk opposite to Ushodaya), and cross high tension Road (notice the tall electrical transmission towers along this road). Continue on 1st Avenue, beyond
Ramakrishna Centre for Culture and Spirituality (on your left).
If you continue driving 100m after Ramakrishna Centre for Culture and Spirituality without turning, you will see the south-west gate of Kapra lake (usually closed). This gate is also the entry to the "immersion point" of the lake. When you see the gate:
- Take the road you see on your left.
- Take the first turn to your right.
- Pushp Kunj is the second building on your left, a five-storey building (we are on the fourth floor of this building).
- You have reached Dr. Partha's new habitat
